L Cup Bras – UK L Cup Sizes, Brands & Fit Guidance
A UK L cup sits at the upper end of the extended UK cup size range and is only produced by a very small number of specialist brands. This guide explains what an L cup means in UK sizing, which brands make it, and how to ensure the best possible fit.
To confirm your starting size, begin with our Bra Size Calculator, then review the brand-specific availability below.
Who This Guide Is For
- Women who wear a UK L cup
- Those sized out of K and KK cup ranges
- Fuller-bust shoppers needing maximum support
- Customers struggling with inconsistent fit at very large cup sizes
Why L Cup Bras Are Different
Unlike smaller cup sizes, UK L cup bras are only produced using the extended UK cup sequence. There is no traditional-sequence or alternative UK L cup in current production.
This means that all UK L cup bras follow the same underlying sizing rule and represent the same cup volume across brands that make this size.
UK brands producing L cups use the extended sequence: D, DD, E, F, FF, G, GG, H, HH, J, JJ, K, KK, L, LL.
Why L Cup Bras Are So Hard to Find
L cup bras sit at the very top of the UK size range and are produced in extremely small volumes. Only a handful of specialist brands design patterns, underwires and support structures suitable for this cup depth. As a result, availability is limited by both cup size and band size, and many retailers do not stock L cups at all.
If you wear a L cup, it is especially important to focus on correct measurement and brand-specific size charts rather than relying on sister sizing or trial-and-error purchasing.
How Cup Sizes Are Actually Measured
All UK bra sizing follows the 1-inch rule, meaning each step in the cup sequence represents a one-inch increase in the difference between the underband and the fullest bust measurement.
At L cup level, the key differences between bras come from band size, cup shape, wire width and construction, not from how the cup size itself is calculated.
An L cup is not one fixed volume. Cup volume increases as band size increases, so a 32L, 38L and 42L are all very different in fit and capacity.
Always consider both band size and cup size together.
